Who's Calling The Shots?

Beautiful Renee

I can never thank Chris Meadows enough for arranging my book signing. I met his two daughters, one niece, a grandson and a great granddaughter, four generations for the first time. Wow!

Now and then something comes together right even more than one could wish for. I had enough gloom and doom in life’s struggles. My wife, Renee, has been fighting cancer for over five years. The early part of summer her cancer doctor told me she had months to live, but we could try experimental drugs that may put her in remission. The odds were unknown but we took the chance knowing the side effects of that stuff. In less than six weeks Renee went into remission and shocked everyone in the medical community. Now she lives a good life with only a visit to her doctor once a month .

We don’t know what the future holds for Renee but we are optimistic. The oncoming journey is a part of life one must face. While Renee was on her deathbed I had to take care not to leave problems to our children. Arrangements had to be made and that was a struggle for me. I needed a support system. When things go right and when things go wrong, who do I turn to? I’ve always looked to God, the Great Mystery. The rules were laid down in the beginning of the world and I only have to follow the right path. I called upon my ancestors for guidance. They know the way.

I fought the cancer battle along side Renee. But I had another battle. I had a life’s journey to leave for the generations to come. I wanted to share a piece of my life so we can be friends here and in the after world. I wrote a book entitled Timekeeper. November 15, 2008 was a special Earth Maker day. With wings of an eagle I soared into my dream world with wonder. Smiles spread wide upon the faces of a crowd who were there for me at Barnes and Nobles Bookstore. Most had read Timekeeper and wanted another copy for their friends. The happiest smiling face was Renee’s. With all the good fortune at that special moment I asked and answered myself in the same breath. “Who’s calling the shots? The Great Mystery.”

What a beautiful photo of Renee. No one could ever guess that she's had the battle she's had with cancer . She's not your everyday trooper . She's got more class than anyone I've met . An elegant lady who posseses unbelievable courage in good or bad times . She's a tough one , but always has a smile for you. And what a smile !!
